I agree with you, who cares about the spiffy UI if the user experience is 'degraded'. They are separate things for separate purposes, and I rather have a tool that is good at one thing than half-assed at everything, Now I can do print screen and immediately grab a bitmap and get dropped into snagit editor. Managed to fix the problem with the click to select image or video capture: I unhooked 'print screen' from 'global capture' in the SnagIt hotkeys preferences, and then assigned it as the hotkey for the 'image' profile. Trying to merge video and still images sounds too much like trying to flow with a trend. The push towards video is dead silly - if I want to do video, I use Camtasia. Ignore making it pretty, as that does not matter one bit for us users. Please keep it fast, effective, and unique. It is not a plaything I use to amuse myself, not a game, and not a consumer product. Look a bit "cooler", but that is really the last thing that is important.
